Control is a third-person action-adventure that plunges players into the heart of the Federal Bureau of Control — a shadowy institution hidden in a brutalist skyscraper in New York known as the Oldest House. As Jesse Faden, the new Director of the Bureau, players must uncover the fate of her missing brother and confront an interdimensional threat called the Hiss.

The game blends gunplay with telekinetic powers, allowing Jesse to hurl objects, create psychic shields, levitate, and reshape the battlefield. The Bureau is filled with shifting architecture, secret documents, eerie soundscapes, and SCP-style anomalies — from haunted slide projectors to corrupted office equipment.

Combat is fluid, intense, and often chaotic, encouraging players to master both weapon forms and supernatural abilities. The game’s nonlinear structure lets players explore at their own pace, discover hidden challenges, and piece together the lore through scattered notes and recorded interviews. Reality is unstable, and perception is a weapon.
