Metro Exodus is a post-apocalyptic shooter and survival game set in the ruined remains of a nuclear-ravaged Russia. Players become Artyom, a ranger of the Spartan Order, leading his comrades aboard a steam locomotive called the Aurora in search of a new home.
The game blends open-ended sandbox levels with tightly scripted sequences. Players must scavenge for resources, craft equipment, and manage radiation exposure and gas mask filters. Weapons degrade over time and must be cleaned and maintained, adding layers of realism and tension.
The seasons pass as the Aurora travels across Russia, each bringing new threats: mutant wildlife, hostile factions, and supernatural phenomena. Stealth is often preferable to confrontation, but when the time comes to fight, every bullet counts. Metro Exodus is bleak, beautiful, and deeply human.
